Summary:
The Wheatsheaf Inn is a family run pub and restaurant nestled in the heart of the Wirral Countryside. Known locally as the ‘Thatch’, the premises was suffering from a slow internet connection and lack of 4G coverage. This meant that customers were having to leave the premises in order to access internet services on their phone. It also created operational difficulties internally. Sure Business Systems helped them overcome this through facilitating the installation of a high speed internet connection with WiFi hotspots through the premises that customers can access free of charge. An additional benefit was the set-up of a GDPR compliant data capture software allowing the business to build and grow their marketing database.
Challenges:
When making their own enquiries, The Wheatsheaf were told by BT that they would not be able to install fibre due to the coverage chart not including the location of the pub. However with local knowledge and through identifying a Fibre Node close to the premises, Sure Business Systems were able to establish that the coverage chart had not been updated and was incorrect. Following up from this Sure Business Systems took over communications with BT and were successfully able to argue the point.
Managing Installation:
Dealing directly with BT on behalf of the Wheatsheaf helped Sure Business Systems to efficiently manage the new installation. This also meant Sure Business Systems were the only point of contact as opposed to having to juggle different parties. The new high speed fibre connection integrated with the Enterprise Wireless infrastructure means the business can now look at deploying other cloud based application such as VoIP and other new cloud based technologies.
Marketing Opportunities through Data Capture:
In order to ensure the continued success and growth of the business the owners recognised the need to identify the footfall and demographics of their customers. Understanding this, Sure Business Systems suggested the integration of Beambox, a software which requires users of the WiFi to answer a few questions and sign up to the email marketing list before accessing. This has resulted in the pubs marketing list growing by over 500%.
