The Challenges
Prior to our involvement, Tree Tops Caravan Park aging Wi-Fi systems weak signal was unable to penetrate the metal walls of the caravans in some areas of the park.
Additionally, because of the topology of the land, the signal did not have a clear line of sight and wasn’t able to reach some areas of the park. On busy weekends, high demand would impact the performance and speed of the WiFi system. Frequent connectivity issues led to caravan owners complaining, and management felt unable to justify charging for the service given its unreliability.
The Solution
We initiated the 4-week project during the closed season, December to March, to minimise disruption to caravan owners. This provided the ideal opportunity for extensive upgrades without impacting caravan owners stay.
After multiple site surveys, our team carefully assessed the terrain due to the park’s hillside location and the necessity of ensuring comprehensive coverage. Sure Business Systems engineers made repeated trips to the caravan park, to install and build a robust infrastructure capable of delivering powerful Wi-Fi signals from various strategic points around the park, including elevated positions on the hill. Making sure there would be reliable, high-speed internet access to every corner of the park.

This upgrade has enabled the park management to confidently offer Wi-Fi as a value-added service. Now, caravan owners can opt for high-speed internet access, enhancing their stay and enabling seamless digital experiences, from streaming their favorite shows to attending video calls surrounded by nature. As the new internet service has grown in popularity, Sure Business Systems has made multiple visits to Tree Tops Caravan Park to equip additional caravans with new receivers. These installations bring a wired connection into the caravan, connected to a small, modern modem that delivers Wi-Fi throughout the home, supporting multiple devices simultaneously. This has been especially useful for families visiting and staying on the park as they often have children with tablets, laptops, Games Consoles, Netflix, etc. that all require a solid internet connection at the same time.
How does it work?
A small Wi-Fi receiver is expertly mounted on the side of the caravan by Sure Business Systems’ engineers, who are skilled in adapting the installation to each unique make and model of caravan. A cable is discreetly run from the receiver into the caravan, connecting to a compact, modern modem inside. This modem emits a personal Wi-Fi network, providing reliable internet access throughout the caravan. The installation includes a one-off fee for the equipment and setup, followed by a monthly service charge to the park. This fee covers ongoing support and maintenance, ensuring caravan owners enjoy uninterrupted service.
