Being able to communicate efficiently and reliably is a key component to running a successful taxi company. Understanding this, established firm A-Star Taxis recently upgraded their comms equipment to a full push to talk over cellular (PTTOC) set-up.
Previously using a two-way radio system, A-Star Taxis wanted to upgrade to a cutting edge solution that was more reflective of the company and the high end vehicles which make up its fleet.
Utilising a cellular signal, PTTOC offers a push to talk function which can be operated anywhere cellular signal is available. In the UK, networks such as EE estimate area coverage to be 99% making PTTOC a great solution for anyone requiring wide coverage. Multi-network roaming SIMS, which automatically switch to the carrier with the strongest signal can also be used to further enhance coverage.
After understanding their requirements Sure Business Systems recommended TELO M5 devices operating on the Airsys Cloud platform. Easy and cost efficient to set-up, the platform operates on a cost per licence basis. A-Star Taxis also took advantage of Sure Business Systems all in one package meaning the devices, licences and data SIM cards are included in one monthly fee, very similar to what you would expect with a mobile phone contract.
The equipment and platform has proved to work well for the company with Managing Director Mark Watkins describing the set-up as ‘very user friendly’
