Haines Watts are a top 15 firm of chartered Accountants. Their legacy communications system was becoming too expensive to maintain and lacked flexibility and functionality, particularly for regional offices and remote workers. Haines Watts old BT Meridian legacy system no longer suited the needs of the business having been set-up for how they operated years ago. Lacking functionality, the old technology was also becoming expensive to maintain. An additional challenge presented was the timeframe in which Haines Watts needed the solution, having lost all communications they needed this to be rectified ASAP.
Seamless Migration :
With no support from their previous provider, and left with a total Comms blackout following the power surge Haines Watts needed a quick and seamless migration. Sure Business deployed an on-site team of engineers who migrated from ISDN to SIP for over 30 users in just 24-hours.
The new VoIP platform allows for greater flexibility and disaster recovery. Unlike ISDN, phone numbers are not tethered to a set location, giving SIP trunking the benefit of portability. It was important for Haines Watts that users could keep their existing DDIs and extensions, for business continuity.
Neil Owens, Head of Networking Services at Sure Business Systems, commented: “The deployment and migration to Mitel was seamless, and it took Sure Business engineers just 24-Hours to supply, install, commission and train staff ensuring that there was minimal disruption in service to users throughout the entire project.”
The Mitel VoIP solution is now capable of migrating away from legacy ISDN technology to SIP for calls and lines, offering key benefits such as: caller identity, inbound call control and diverse call routing from the switchboard has improved staff productivity and the overall client experience.
IT resilience has improved business continuity considerably. Previously, Haines Watts had its primary voice communications in the hands of an obsolete aging phone system with little or no support. Now their systems are robust and resilient with cloud based SIP number delivering flexibility and resilience particularly in the covid-19 epidemic when calls when diverted to remote users within minutes of a service request.
